Haven Cottage Breakfast
The quality of the breakfast we serve you is an important part of your stay at Haven Cottage and we are delighted to have recently been given a ‘Breakfast Award’ by Visit England in recognition of the quality and variety of our breakfasts.
Served in our dining-room and guest lounge, our breakfasts are a relaxed affair starting with a choice of fruit, yoghurt, cereals and juices, before enjoying your choice of a traditional cooked Cumberland breakfast, our home-cooked vegetarian altrernative, or one of our daily specials that we regularly drop into the breakfast menu (smashed avocado & poached eggs on sour-dough bread, or Eggs Benedict being two of the favourites).
The provenance of the food we put onto your plate is important to us and our currently preferred suppliers include:
Bannerigg Farm, Windermere for their Free Range eggs
Town End Dairy, Windermere for their milk
Freddie Garside Butchers, Ambleside for their wonderful bacon, sausages and black pudding
Carrs Flour of Wigton which we use in the making of our homemade bread
Granny Smiths in Ambleside for much of our breakfast fruit & veg
Farrer's of Kendal for our Tea
Red Bank Coffee, freshly roasted in the Lake District
