Lovely stay! Lovely warm, cosy and welcoming bed and breakfast. The hosts Amanda and Mark are lovely, with Mark offering extensive knowledge of countryside walks. Room was lovely, comfortable and spotless clean! Good variety of breakfast options, and very accommodating with dietary requirements. Great base in the heart of the Lake District for exploring, will definitely say again!

Best B&B by far With out doubt the best B&B I’ve stayed in that’s why we came back again. Lovely host who take time out to speak to you and offer advice. Our room was absolutely amazing, my wife loved the bath. Breakfast was delicious and you get free parking. I really recommend this accommodation, first class.

Absolute gem of a B&B Haven cottage is a beautiful B&B.
The owners are friendly and happy to help.
The rooms are so lovely with everything you need. They are very comfy and have everything you need.
It is in a great location and has parking.
I would 100% recommend staying here

  We had a lovely 3-night stay at Haven B&B in June. Amanda and Mark are brilliant hosts and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. We stayed in the Master Suite which was amazing, and the breakfasts were brilliant too.

We used the B&B for our wedding accommodation, and stupidly left some confetti in the dining room on the morning of the wedding. Mark very kindly went out of his way to bring this up to the wedding venue on his own accord.

  Perfect 4 night stay with marvellous hosts Amanda & Mark, who couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfasts & afternoon cake all very tasty. Guest House is in a perfect position for Centre of Ambleside, own car park & bus stop right outside. Room 8 with roll top bath & balcony perfect for us.

  We stayed at The Haven for one night in March 2023. The name describes it beautifully. Room eight, which is a delightful suite, cosy, comfortable and bright. With freestanding bath, a lovely balcony looking across to Loughrigg and just a stones throw from the centre of Ambleside, this is a perfect place to unwind. Amanda and Mark are incredible hosts who are warm and welcoming. Their breakfast is amazing too. As a vegan and vegetarian its wonderful to see such attention to detail.

  We stayed mid-week for a few days in January, a great time to go to the Lake District as it's very quiet. Parking is available with EV charging and the property offers a great location almost in the centre of Ambleside. Breakfast was provided each morning and was always fantastic quality and delicious, the hosts were very attentive, providing advice on hiking in the local area and showing us their great collection of maps and books in the lounge area (which had a well stocked honesty bar). The room was well appointed with daily fresh milk, coffee, hot chocolate etc. The room and whole accommodation was very clean and tidy.

  What an absolute treasure of a place!  Just on the edge of the town, Haven Cottage is a stylish, elegant and comfortable retreat.  Decorated in a Scandi-chic style with an amazing attention to detail from the cosy candle-lit lounge with a roaring fire to our very smart room with its roll-top bath and huge walk-in shower, complete with lovely fluffy bathrobes.  Our very charming hosts, Amanda and Mark, were super friendly and welcoming and made a fabulous breakfast too! Amanda is a nutritionist and all her ingredients were organic and local, including her delicious home-made bread and the local butter which we indulged in!  This place is more like a very chic boutique hotel and I can highly recommend.  We will definitely be back!

  Just returned from a 3 night stay which was our second visit this year. Haven Cottage is perfectly situated in Ambleside just a short walk into the village where there are lots of restaurants, pubs and shops and also easy access to Grasmere and lots of fabulous walks and hikes. It has on site parking for each room which is a bonus in Ambleside. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and comfortable and have everything you need including tea and coffee with fresh milk every day and beautiful quality toiletries, bathrobes and luxury towels. We stayed in room 8 which has a spacious balcony with a great view of Loughrigg. After last staying in February we loved being able to sit out on the balcony with a bottle of wine in the evening this time due to the fantastic weather. Also sat there with a cup of tea early morning before breakfast. Breakfast is fantastic. You get to choose from a wide selection of high quality food and everything we had was delicious. Home made cake is on offer daily in the afternoon and again is delicious.  The hosts, Amanda and Mark, are very friendly and attentive and very helpful suggesting hiking routes. It really is a special place and we will definitely be returning.

  From start to finish we had an amazing experience. Amanda was the perfect host, a genuinely friendly and welcoming person. You can tell she takes pride in what she does as the whole b&b was kept immaculate and is beautifully decorated. Don't get me started on the breakfast, a huge selection a quality food to chose from, all cooked to perfection. We will definitely be coming back here
